Nani Power is an author, painter and filmmaker living in Virginia. She is the author of three novels and two memoirs, as well as the founder of Bec & Mariah, a film Production company.

Her books include Crawling at Night (Grove/Atlantic Monthly, 2001), a New York Times Notable Book of The Year and a finalist for The Los Angeles Times Book Award as well as the British Orange Award. It was optioned for film by Kimi Takesue and VOX 3 Productions. Her second novel, The Good Remains (Grove/Atlantic Monthly, 2002), was also a New York Times Notable Book of The Year, and a finalist for The Virginia Library Award. The Sea of Tears, her third novel, was published in January 2005 by Counterpoint Press. A memoir, Feed The Hungry, was published by Simon and Schuster in April 2008 as well as a memoir Ginger and Ganesh (Counterpoint) in 2010.

Her short stories have appeared in The Paris Review, Rattapallax and The Common. She just completed her first short film, called In The Blood, which will be premiered late summer.

Her first feature film is in development and plans to start shooting in 2025.
